Multidisciplinary Artist + Writer

I am an Irish-Iranian writer + multidisciplinary artist, working across the mediums of photography, sound, movement, poetry and lyrical memoir. I’m currently based in England while studying a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Creative Writing.
My practice is deeply influenced by my mixed heritage and the effects of the psychological and physical displacement from both sides of these lineages. My process is connected to a spiritual way of seeing, informing how I approach both external and internal spaces from presence, trust, connection and reflection.
I am interested in how nature, landscapes, the physical world and the body acts as metaphors and backdrops for internal experiences, such as displacement, the ongoing search for home, spirituality, trauma, memory and dreams. How dreamlike and subconscious imagery can be externalised into the physical world, and blend the spiritual and psychological with the physical.
I am also drawn to exploring inherited and collective memory and trauma, and how this affects families, communities, societies and the individual psyche.
I am excited by how interdisciplinary art forms and hybrid styles of writing better articulate psychological complexity, and communicate with one another to create broader languages and narratives.
