Meditations on Movement.
A series to summarise the compulsion to move, travel and search for a sense of home. Photos taken slowly across the course of ten years, the liminal spaces acting as a metaphor for inner restlessness and the need for inner and external transformation. Showing that in the freedom of movement also contains the grief of what we must leave behind; the opportunities missed and relationships that must change as we do.
And how unexpectedly, in the search for home and the quest for freedom, the road and movement become the places we experience it tmost.
I also find that movement, travelling and taking journeys to be symbolic of the life we live here on earth: we evolve, we learn and reflect on our lessons, have incredible and fleeting experiences, face inevitable losses and continually must let go of the past. Perhaps always with a deeper sense of searching for our ultimate home and belonging, one we can’t find here but awaits in the life to come.
